Last year, Max Azria’s Los Angeles mansion was listed for $85 million, but was taken off the market after failing to sell. And, fashion designer is now trying his luck at an even higher price – actually $3 million more. And what will you get for $88 million? The 60-room California mansion, called “Maison du Soleil”, has it all: 17 bedrooms, a pristine pool and pool house, tennis court, huge living spaces, a 6,000-square-foot movie theater, fitness center, greenhouses, and entertaining patios and gardens galore.

This luxury mansion was originally designed by architect-to-the-stars Paul R. Williams in the 1930s, and has been updated by Azria and his wife since their purchase of the place in 2005. It’s reported that the couple spent $30 million on renovations and upgrades to the house, on things such as a floor-to-ceiling waterfall chandelier made from over 150,000 crystals, a home theater with candy and popcorn bar, and a domed, gold-leaf ceiling in Mr. Azria’s office.

The nearly 3-acre property has a swimming pool with a bar and a Moroccan-themed pool house with a sauna, spa and fireplace. A tennis court has an elevated viewing box. A glass-ceilinged greenhouse has been converted into a gym, and there is a second greenhouse for organic produce. The property has a number of gardens, including the “French Garden,” which has a free-standing outdoor fireplace.
“The house is off the charts,” listing agent Alla Furman told Business Insider. Furman and Branden and Rayni Williams of Hilton & Hyland have the listing.
