We could say that Pharrell Williams is equally known for the music and for the fashion. Next to running his own brand Billionaire Boys Club, the singer and producer messed with Moynat, adidas Originals, G-Star and many others. His latest collaboration is with none other than Chanel. French fashion house unveiled a cryptic video of Pharrell giving a tour of the design process behind the collection last March, and teased some forthcoming pieces that the star ostensibly had a hand in creating.
“Last March, a few days after attending the Fall-Winter 2016/17 Ready-to- Wear show at the Grand Palais, the multi-talented artist spent a day with the craftsmen whose expertise and skill are unique to the Métiers d’art of CHANEL.
“Through the exceptional work of the embroiderer Lesage, the feathers and flowers maker Lemarié, the pleater Lognon, the shoe maker Massaro and the hat maker Maison Michel, Pharrell Williams was able to plunge to the very heart of their creative processes and take part in the creation of these unique pieces from the Métiers d’art Paris in Rome 2015/16 collection.”
This partnership should not come as a surprise as Pharrell and Chanel have a close relationship for years. He’s close friends with their creative director Karl Lagerfeld, he appeared films and campaigns for the brand, and more.
