After the self-driving vehicles and infotainment systems gradually took over the primacy of the IT equipment dealerships, automakers are spreading to toys showrooms. Thus, at this year’s International Tokyo Toy Show, Toyota will present new toy – Camatte Capsule, an interactive trailer (caravan) which can be customized, making for an enjoyable joint activity for parents and children to share.
In addition to a variety of physical add-ons, they can change its color and brightness via tablet with a specially designed app. The app allows users to select between six different color patterns and then add up to eight different objects into the trailer. Some of the objects apparently include a bed, a basketball hoop, and a toolbox. The design then gets projected on three of the trailer’s walls with the aim to offer an opportunity for parents and children to enjoy interacting with and talking about cars together.
“Capsule” refers to a space (a world) that children can create freely.
The trailer will be shown alongside a handful of other concepts including the Camatte Sora, Camatte 57s, and the Camatte Hajime.
