Between 1945 and 1996 the Dutch police used different cars, from Alfa Romeo to a Citroen H. There were also Porsches, including 356 Convertibles and 911 Targa. One of their Porsche 911 Targa will be sold at auction. Some were used by a special unit of the traffic police Algemene Verkeers Dienst (AVD) which was founded in 1962, and it is also the case with the car in the photos, which was produced in 1989.
Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Targa Rijkspolitie 12.24 ALEX was in service from 1989 to 1991, and has been driven for a total of 105,201 kilometers (65,368 miles).
The car is in excellent condition and was restored in Italy. The buyer will receive a certificate of authenticity, as well as all relevant documentation. It is equipped with police equipment, uniforms, helmets, triangles, tow cable, handcuffs, first aid kit, spare bulbs, radio connection and the like.
Porsche will be sold at auction on October 7 at Bonhams’ Zoute sale in Belgium and is estimated to go under the hammer for €90,000 to €150,000 ($100,845 to $168,075).
