Lotus Esprit S1 will live forever in the history books of British sports cars. Introduced in 1975, but over time he adopted a number of improvements which aim was to improve performance. The company has produced only 718 copies of model S1 between 1976 and 1978, so they are very difficult to find. However, the owner from California is selling this fully restored car on E-Bay for $59,900.
The car in the photos was produced in 1978 and is one of the last to have emerged from the Lotus factory before production of the S2 began somewhat later.
It is painted in a high-quality silver color, has Koni shock absorbers, exhaust system made of stainless steel, Epsilon wheels and other, while the interior is upholstered in Alcantara similar material. All components of the interior are original.
Lotus’ 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine has been restored, and has only 4,828 km since then. The seller didn’t specify whether it is the European version with 160 hp or the US that develops 140 hp.
