Penhaligon launches this month a new unisex fragrance called Savoy Steam. The nose behind this fragrance is Juliette Karagueuzoglou, and like the previous fragrance Elixir, Savoy Steam was inspired by the brand’s first scent, Hammam Bouquet, introduced 1872 in honor of the Turkish baths next door to the original Penhaligon’s barber shop on Jermyn Street in London.
The scent of Savoy Steam is smoky-spicy. Top notes are bergamot, lemon, eucalyptus, mint, pink pepper and rosemary; middle notes are rose, geranium, cardamom, hedione and tea; base notes are benzoin, incense, vanilla and white musk.
Penhaligon’s Savoy Steam
Savoy Steam will be available in two concentrations which differ not just in concentration. Savoy Steam Eau de Parfum (100 ml) is about “A steam-mist of fresh roses. The stir of floating petals.” There are besides rose, green notes, green geranium, rosemary, pink peppercorn, benzoin and incense.
Savoy Steam Eau de Cologne (200 ml) is called a “hammam friction” and is about “The cooling eucalyptus, and an ambrosial aromatic rosemary ointment shot through with lemon primofiore.” Notes are also fir balsam, white cedar, resins and incense.
