Such examples can be seen at Murray Hill’s House 39, Midtown West’s Sky, and The American Copper Building in Kips Bay. Murray Hill’s latest edition, House 39, features a plethora of amenities including a luxurious hammam designed by David Rockwell, with custom stones inspired by the traditional Turkish bath.

A curved Handel Architects building, House 39 also includes other health-centric amenities such as a state-of-the-art gym with locker rooms, a fire pit, library, conference room with individual work stations, demonstration and catering kitchens, game room with skee ball, ping pong, billiards and electronic games, and indoor and outdoor children’s playgrounds. Atop the building, the 360-degree rooftop encompasses indoor and outdoor hot tubs, a pool, cabanas and gas grills.
Sky in Midtown West, the largest rental building in the country, offers members of its Life Time Athletic at Sky fitness club access to the exclusive 70,000 square-foot fitness center designed by Carmelo Anthony, including a Turkish hammam within its water club. Also designed by Rockwell, this hammam evokes traditional Turkish culture and customs. Life Time Athletic at Sky spa includes luxurious massage, facial and nail services.
Hammams
The American Copper Building in Kips Bay is another recent addition to the thriving rental market. Developed by JDS Development Group, with interiors by SHoP Architects, building amenities include a marble hammam with a plunge pool. There is also a two-story gym with a rock-climbing wall, juice bar, yoga studio, communal kitchen, playroom, art studio and 761 apartments spread across two towers.
