With its gullwing doors and an impressive performance for the50’s, Mercedes-Benz 300SL Coupe is one of the most popular cars among collectors, and for those who want the wind in the hair, it is equally appreciated 300SL Roadster. A copy of this model will be sold at auction. It is a car manufactured in 1960, and the auction will be held in Santa Monica, California on June 24, organized by RM Sotheby’s.

Mercedes’ engineers are not simply cut off the roof of Coupe when they created 300SL Roadster. They strengthened the chassis and set up conventional doors, and a lower threshold enabled easier entry into the car. Roadster got something smaller grille compared to Coupe.
The German company has produced only 1,858 copies of Convertible, and the production lasted from 1957 to 1963.
Mercedes 300SL Roadster
This copy was originally painted in red color, but during the restoration in 2005, it was painted in green. The restoration was complete, from paintwork, chrome parts, to the engine.
It is estimated that the new owner of the car will splash out between $1.1 and $1.3 million.
