In the hotel complex in Chile is the largest pool in the world, which is more like an ocean than the pool. The private property “San Alfonso del Mar” in Algarrobo, Chile, is home to the largest pool on the planet. And it is not just a guess, but the fact, given that the same data is also in the Guinness Book of Records. The pool is a total of length slightly more than a kilometer, covers an area of 8 ha (20 acres), and contains a total of 250 million litres (66 million US gallons), of filtered sea from the Pacific Ocean.
Its maximum depth is with a maximum depth of 11.5 ft (3.5052 m), so it is possible to dive.
There is also the possibility of practicing sport, like water skiing. However, far more impressive is the fact that in terms of size – the pool is as big as six thousand standard pools.
The special charm of the whole pool gives its turquoise color, and water temperature is 26 degrees, so that there was much more pleasant, but also safer than swim in the ocean.
The pool is otherwise opened in 2006, exactly five years after construction, and some estimates put the total cost of construction at about US$3.5 million for the filtration system alone.
