Racing Maserati 300 S from 1956, driven by the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio, will be one of the most interesting exhibits at the auction of classic cars in American Pebble Beach. The world saw a small number of drivers driving a caliber of Fangio. In his career, Argentine won 5 Formula One championships titles, and triumphed in a total of 24 Grand Prix races – of which twice in this Maserati. Driving 300 S model, Fangio passed the finish line first in the race for the Porugal Grand Prize and the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Maserati 300 S from 1956 is based on the legendary 250 F, and it is powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder.
In the construction, the alumunium was heavily used, making it significantly easier for cars and making it the most competitive racing models of the time, such as Ferrari 250 TR and Jaguar D-Type.
The famous British driver, Stirling Mos, once said that “300 S” is one of his favorite racing models, explaining that it is a car that is “one of the easiest to drive and the best balanced sports-racing car in the world.”
And Mos won some time in this model, in Argentina and in Nurburgring.
The reputation of the Maserati 300 S, as well as the name of Fangio that relates to the history of this specimen, is a guarantee that the car at the auction that takes place in August will attract a large number of collectors and reach a high price.
