In a country where many residents practically live in a car, monitoring the worship from a parked vehicle isn’t a big surprise. America invented the “drive-in” cinema and “drive-through” restaurants, so why not the “drive-in” church.
The author Lauren DeFilippo showed such a church in her short documentary. The church is located in Daytona Beach, and was founded in 1953.

Believers get their cars to the planned parking spaces in front of Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church, just like in the “drive-in” cinema, and worship can be watched over the radio in their vehicle.

One of the advantages is that believers, in contrast to the classical church, do not have to listen to the priests in complete silence, and for many who have health problems and are difficult to move, it is easier to follow the worship from their car than from the church bench.
