Kim Kardashian reportedly attended the Rare Watches and American Icons sale at Christie’s on June 21, where she secretly spent $379,500 on a watch that once belonged to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The watch was projected to go for $120,000 – but Kardashian more than tripled that. Manufactured in 1962, the 18k gold, square-shaped watch, deemed “fine and historically important” by Christie’s, was a gift from Jackie’s brother-in-law, Prince Stanislaw “Stas” Radziwill and was engraved with the message: “Stas to Jackie, 23 Feb. 1963. 2.05am to 9.35am”. This date fell just nine months before President John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
Christie’s said that Jackie Kennedy can be seen wearing the watch in several iconic photos.
Kardashian also reportedly bid on a original painting by Kennedy, signed “JBK,” depicting Stas on a hike in Palm Beach that same year, but it’s unclear who won that entry.
