For 2017, Ralph Lauren has launched “Ralph Lauren Minute Repeater” which is an even more high-end version of the classy-looking men’s dress watch. Modeled on Ralph Lauren’s Slim Classique wristwatches, the Minute Repeater is shares the same thin case characterised by a wide bezel decorated with guilloche – done the traditional way on a rose engine, by hand. The dial is similarly decorated, giving it a look that’s a mix of Breguet and early Cartier.
With a diameter of 42mm, it is the perfect “catch-all” size, and with a thickness of just 10.1mm its slender proportions come close to rivalling minute repeaters by other manufacturers that are described as “ultra-thin”. Its case will come in 18k white gold – with other gold colors likely following later.

Inside the watch is a movement Ralph Lauren calls the caliber RL888. Manually wound with 100 hours of power reserve, the movement operates at 3Hz (21,600bph) and is comprised of 300 parts. The watch case is water resistant to 30m (notable for a minute repeater), and the minute repeater complication also has a slider protection mechanism so that if it is not correctly activated the movement will not get damaged.
