Chopard has announced the L.U.C. Heritage Grand Cru, a watch that is a celebration of the brand’s first LUC XP Tonneau watch from 2001. Just as a Grand Cru wine is classified and certified, the excellent craftsmanship of the L.U.C Heritage Grand Cru is attested by the “Poinçon de Genève” quality hallmark. Chopard has designed this watch with its distinctive shape reminiscent of the oak barrels from the forests of Bertrange, Jupille and Tronçais.

Based on the cal. 96.01, the first L.U.C movement developed by Chopard and still one of the most refined self-winding movements on the market, the tonneau-shaped L.U.C 97.01-L is a thin movement that’s just 3.3mm high. The entire watch with 18k rose gold case measures just 38.5mm by 38.8mm and has a 7.7mm thin profile.
Crafted from white porcelain and bearing black Roman numerals, the resulting dial is both elegant and eye-catching for its perfect proportions and finishing. The minute track following the central part of the dial composes a balanced ensemble with the finely snailed small seconds sub-dial at 6 o’clock.

The engraved 22-carat gold micro-rotor drive two stacked barrels based on Chopard’s patented Twin technology. Together, they guarantee 65 hours of running time and supply sufficiently constant energy to enable calibre 97.01-L to beat with chronometer-worthy precision as certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
