Here is the first launch of the 2018 SIHH: the new Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Excellence Platine. The triple calendar executed entirely in platinum: the case, the dial, the folding clasp (which, as always, has the shape of a half Maltese Cross) and even the thread that sews the strap.
The case (41 X 10.72 mm) and the handles have the shape “Etagé”, which means straight handles, angled shapes and grooved back.

The dial is also made of platinum, in this case with decoration in sandblasted. It is sculpted from a single block. Unlike its “Historical” brothers, here the day and month windows are separated, housed between two indexes of white gold. These are of straight facets and are fastened on a railroad track.
In the complete calendars of the 40s and 50s the date was marked with a third needle pointing to the outermost circle, and the same happens here.

While the hour and minute hands are Dauphine, the date hands are straight and bluish. At 6 o’clock a traditional moon phase appears that includes the age of the satellite, which is also made of platinum. The set is completed with the data printed in blue, which gives it a very elegant appearance.
Flip over the watch and you have a nice display caseback that showcases the automatic caliber 2460QCL automatic movement, developed and manufactured in-house. It has the Stamp of the Geneva Punch and a rotor in pink gold.

It lasts 4 hertz for 40 hours without needing more rope, while the moon phase only needs adjustment once every 122 years.
