Ahead of this January’s SIHH watch salon, Roger Dubuis has revealed two new interpretations of their Excalibur watches alongside Pirelli and Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the Lamborghini division specialising in motorsports.
In the first of the new Excalibur models, Italian design and aesthetics meets high-end Swiss watchmaking and mechanics, resulting in a new calibre inspired by the engine of the Lamborghini Aventador S.
The collaboration will be released in 2018 in the form of the Excalibur Aventador S Pink Gold, which sports a pink gold bezel alongside a black Alcantara strap. In keeping with Lamborghini tradition, the Excalibur Aventador S Pink Gold is inspired by the dynamics of motorsport and the exclusivity of supercar culture.
Living up to its “Powered by Raging Mechanics” signature, the watch will be released in a limited edition of just eight pieces, featuring a multi-layer carbon skeleton case with a Duotor calibre.
Also ready for 2018 is a new edition of the Excalibur Spider Pirelli, this time in black titanium with white accents – a reference to the tarmac where Pirelli’s tyres make their home.
This special edition will be equipped with the uted titanium black DLC skeletonised bezel, with a crown over-moulded with white rubber and matching white stitching on the strap. The strap of the watch is manufactured from winning Pirelli motorsport tyre rubber, featuring the tread profile of the tyre on the interior.
Prices for these and the rest of Roger Dubuis’s 2018 releases are expected to be announced at SIHH.
