The creator of the movie cars such as Batmobile or KITT from the cult Knight Rider series, once owned Ferrari 308 GTS, which he arranged “in his own taste”!
Nearly all have heard, and on television or in the cinema they have seen the famous Batmobile, Batman’s vehicle, while some older, probably also remember the Knight Rider series from the 1980s with David Hasselhoff in the main role and his computerized car KITT (Pontiac Firebird).

Well, the man behind the creation of these two mentioned vehicles is George Barris, a car lover and an even greater fan of modifications and personalization, who, unfortunately, passed away in 2015. Barris’ desire for a tuning was confirmed by his personal Ferrari 308 GTS from 1978, which will soon be on auction sale.
Though elegant and more than a popular car for the time, this 308 GTS definitely could not stay in the “stock” edition. Barris extended his front and rear mudguards to accommodate larger wheels, ie wide tires.

Also, one of the trademarks of sports cars of that time was the so-called ” pop-up headlights, which have completely removed from this Ferrari and mounted completely different light groups. There’s also front and rear spoiler, BBS barges, and instead of the standard colors offered for this car, Barris opted for a golden, with an Italian “tricolor” flag along the side line.
You assume that the interior could not remain in the serial edition, so that all the seats were “coated”, and instead of the classic instrumentation, a futuristic, truly unusual “digital” instrument-board for that time was installed!

Of course, a very popular car phone, a Sony mini-TV, a Kenwood audio system, a back-up camera, and then a very popular one were installed. In other words, during this time, this car was far ahead and practically announcer of the time to come. What’s interesting is that Ferrari has only 8000 miles on its odometer!
