Another impressive pickup in the 6×6 configuration appeared on the market … This time, it’s the American Hennessey VelociRaptor 6×6, based on the popular Ford F-150 Raptor.
It seems that ultrarobust 4×4 pickups are not enough for some, so versions with three axles, or 6×6 drive becoming more common in the market! The best-known is Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6, but the American manufacturer and tuner Hennessey has announced its “monster”!
It’s a version based on the Ford Raptor F-150 SuperCrew, which is named VelociRaptor 6×6, and is first shown at the recently held SEMA Show in Las Vegas. It took less than a year to develop this vehicle, and as the US tuner announced, only 50 copies will be produced.
Under the hood is a well-known 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine, which in this model, thanks to numerous improvements, frees up to 605 horsepower and 843 Nm of torque. It’s enough for this monster to reach 100 km/h in about 5.0 seconds!
In addition to the extended chassis, additional axles and an improved suspension system, VelociRaptor boasts 20-inch wheels with Toyo Open Country tires. There are also Hennessey metal front and rear bumpers, as well as a large LED panel on the roof.
Customers can also opt for an optional Brembo braking system with six-piston jaws, which cost $22,000. Otherwise, the price of one VelociRaptor 6×6 copy is not at all small and it costs as much as $349,000!
