Tuner company Oettinger presented in Germany a powerful Golf R modified in a police patrol vehicle.
In order to successfully mate the drivers who violate the law on the superfast autobahn, German police officers patrolling the highway network in that country need adequate patrol cars. With this in mind, Oettinger has upgraded the most powerful, “R” version of the Golf model by boosting the engine, improving the performance of car and installing police communication devices and additional sound and light signaling.
The exterior is also in the nuances characteristic of patrol police cars, and under the hood is an original four-cylinder 2.0 liter turbo gasoline that is enhanced with 90 hp, and now delivers 400 “horses.”
Thanks to the extra power, the police Golf R accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h for only 3.6 s, while the maximum speed of the car is 290 km/h.
Modifications made by Oettinger include an aerodynamic package with front splitter, roof spoiler and accessories at vehicle sites, as well as a new exhaust system with 4 outlet pipes with a diameter of 90 mm.
In addition, new 20 inch aluminum alloy wheels with low-profile Hanhook tires are installed.
It is not known at this time whether this car will be found in a German police car park, as it was created as part of a campaign to increase traffic safety (Tune It! Safe!) that promotes the safe upgrading and modification of car models and is carried out under the auspices of the German Ministry of Transport and Automobile companies.
