Dubbed the Furia, Francesco Manocchio’s concept bycicle is the winner of the prize “Eccellenze del Design nel Lazio” issued by ADI Italy. Furia is a concept bicycle with the hub-centre steering system derived from motorcycle technology. In terms of
choice of materials a latest generation carbon fibre composite were tested and supports created by means of 3D printing.
Inspired by technology, Manocchio wanted to create a light, strong and performance bike that screamed futurism.

He created a 1:1 3D model with 3D printer (replicator 2x) that resulted in an incredible car. Inspired by Bimota’s infamous Tesi 3D motorcycle; he gave the bicycle a hub-center steering column that gives the frame an incredibly different look.
New production systems and materials offer to designers’ new insightful perspectives, that we have to explore in order to innovate, Furia is one of those paths, designed to provoke and inspire.
