Dodge Charger, formerly owned by American actor Bruce Willis and Jamiroquai front-man Jay Kay, will be auctioned on February 24th.
The auction will be held in the UK, and the car is almost identical to that used in the “Bullitt” movie from 1968. It is lacquered in black, and the interior is covered with black leather. However, the interior is not completely original, because Jay Kay wanted some improvements.
Previously, the car was owned by American actor Bruce Willis, and was green when Demi Moore purchased it for him while they were married. Willis owned Charger for ten years, after which Kay bought it and imported it to the United Kingdom.
The purchase of such a car from 1969 is a wise investment because it is one of the rarest and most popular models, and additionally the value is raised by the fact that it had famous owners. Most of the production copies were destroyed during the “The Dukes of Hazzard” series. Cars appeared in a number of cult films, and one copy was also owned by the leader of The Grand Tour, Richard Hammond.
The car comes with complete documentation of servicing and numerous accounts. Kay spent $34,800 on car improvements, the engine was refreshed and improved, and the car itself was brought to perfection.
Dodge Charger is powered by a 8.2 liter V8 engine, paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car will be crossing the block at the Silverstone Auctions event in England on Feb 24, where it’s expected to sell for $70,000 to $85,000.
