‘Sirru Fen Fushi’, which means ‘secret water island’, is a fitting moniker for the Fairmont’s addition the the Maldivian hotel scene. If you are looking for some great bargains on luxury resorts you don’t have so much time before the already planned official opening on 1 April, as Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi.
Even though the resort has not officially opened its doors to guests, Fairmont’s incredibly detailed architecture can be adored by guests in the Maldives during the two month soft opening of the resort starting from 1 February.
During this time the resort is set to run as Sirru Fen Fushi, branding will commence upon official opening.
Villas (120 ultra-luxurious villas), overlooking the dappled turquoise ocean, are of a bohemian bent, all rattan furniture, bathtubs reminiscent of coconut husks and plunge pools just steps away from the white-dressed beds.
Accommodation is suitable for both couples and families; tented villas, set in a star-lit grove, are also available.
The island will also house the Maldives’ first underwater sculpture museum to support protection of the Maldives coral reefs, created by British artist Jason deCaires Taylor.
Located on the northern Shaviyani Atoll,in one of the largest resort lagoons in the Maldives, the resort can be reached by seaplane that takes 55 minutes from Velana International Airport.
