Audemars Piguet has launched its Royal Oak Concept collection’s first model for women. Designed for “a smaller wrist,” this model is the epitome of mechanical jewellery timepiece.
The gorgeous new Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon comes with the openworked dial which reveals the watch’s flying tourbillon, while the 18-carat white gold case, dial and inner bezel are set with brilliant-cut diamonds. There are more than 460 diamonds in total – 397 brilliant-cut diamonds of ~3.49 carats for the case and the buckle; another 62 brilliant-cut diamonds of ~0.16 carats for the dial; and 9 brilliant-cut diamonds of about ~0.02 carats for the movement decoration.

The movement itself is visible through the front or the case as well as the back and is hand-finished and openworked to show the depth of the bridges, and it is presented in a two-tone composition: the balance, upper balance bridge, indexes, and hands are pink or yellow gold, while the rest of the components are rhodium plated. The watch is powered by the new caliber 2951 beating at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, which again features a flying tourbillon at six o’clock.
The case and bracelet are frosted gold, a continuation of Audemars Piguet’s collaboration with Florentine jewelry designer Carolina Bucci and a technique known as the Florentine method of indenting gold to create a shimmering sparkle, like snow.

The watch comes on hand-stitched “large square scale” white alligator strap with 18-carat white gold AP folding clasp set with brilliant-cut diamonds. There’s an additional white “constellation” rubber strap.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon is available in two versions, one with brilliant-cut diamonds (CHF 190,000) and one with baguette-cut diamonds (CHF 395,000).
