About two weeks ago Paul George debuted his second signature shoe, the PG2. Since then, pairs have already landed on the resell market for over $1,000.
The PG 2 ‘PlayStation’ collaboration celebrates PG’s affinity for the PS4 and his ability to bring his game wherever he plays, from the court to the console.
“I just had a knack for video games,” says George of the origin of his passion. “As soon as I discovered PlayStation, I was throwing hints here and there to my dad — cutting out the clipping of a video game, cutting out the clippings of the PlayStation, leaving it on his dresser. I remember on Christmas morning, I unwrapped my gift and sure enough, it was the PS2. I’ve been a PlayStation guy ever since.”
The shoe features a host of PlayStation-specific nods, including a light-up tongue with a PS logo in blue. Additionally, you can turn the lights on or off using a button found inside the sneaker.
The limited edition PG2 comes with dynamic wings at the forefoot, which improves the fit. The insole features a galaxy-themed graphic that Sony created for Nike. Also, the lace locks come in blue, red, green and pink, just like the buttons of the PlayStation controllers.
Finally, you don’t have to charge the batteries since they are self-contained. Similarly, the power should last for over 150 hours.
