Few months ago you could read at this site about beautiful “art refrigerator” by Dolce&Gabbana, resulted from collaboration with one more Italian company – SMEG.
Each refrigerator features images by Sicilian artists: lemons, the trinacria symbol, cart wheels, medieval knights and battle scenes – all distinctive elements of the poetic marionette theater and the Sicilian Cart as well as important aspects of the aesthetic of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The themes developed for each product are embellished with classic floral motifs.
Though the original price was stated to be €30,000 (or about $35,000), the handful of designs available on Neiman Marcus are listed for an eye-popping $50,000 each. If you are wondering why the price jumped dizzying, the answer is somebody, as one of the designs (inspired by Sicilian majolica) is already “sold out” on the website.
Well, that’s not all, each of the seven available hand-painted refrigerators comes with an additional $495 shipping fee.
