La Casa Pacifica, famous for being the “western White House” of former President Richard M. Nixon, still waiting for a new owner. The oceanfront estate in San Clemente is up for sale at $63.5 million, down from its $75 million asking price three years ago.
The sprawling Spanish-style compound sits on more than 5 acres directly overlooking the ocean. It features 15,000 square feet of living space, including the 9,000-square-foot main house, a 3,000-square-foot entertaining pavilion with guest wing and multiple staff accommodations.
The walled compound has 450 feet of ocean frontage, the largest stretch of available residential oceanfront south of Los Angeles. Also on the property are an oceanfront swimming pool, lighted tennis court and putting green. Panoramic views can extend 60 miles to San Clemente Island.
Acquired for Nixon’s use in 1969, the estate has hosted numerous world leaders, including Japanese Premier Eisaku Sato, South Vietnamese President Nguyen Van Thieu and former President Lyndon B. Johnson.
