On the 60th anniversary of the original “beach buggy” 500 Jolly Spiaggina, two special variants of the modern FIAT 500 that have been celebrating the summer and having fun on the beach appeared.
Original FIAT 500 Jolly Spiaggina was produced between 1958 and 1965 in conjunction with Carrozzeria Ghia.
This specific car – without roof and door – for summer adventurers was sold in Europe, the US and South Africa at double the price of the standard FIAT 500, and was also popular among public figures, such as the wealthy shipwreckman Aristotel Onazis or the actor Jul Briner.

The new series, named FIAT 500 “Spiaggina ’58”, is symbolically limited to 1,958 copies, and represents a homage to the original from 1958.
And this car has an open roof, but FIAT did not opt for such a radical conversion as on a 60-year-old car – it’s an “ordinary” convertible version with a canvas roof.
However, some details make this version unique.
First, thelabel “Spiaggina ’58” is in retro style, and the car is painted in the special Volare Blue color.

The vehicle is decorated with a contrasting white line, and there are also special 16-inch alloy wheels also in retro style.
In addition, the car has chrome plated outer rearview mirrors.
The interior is embroidered with blue and white elements, in accordance with the appearance of the exterior, and the design of striped seat covers is also specific.
Although it has a retro image, the car is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities such as the Uconnect multimedia system with a seven-inch touch screen, a digital instrument table, an automatic wiper and headlight sensor, an automatic air conditioning and rear parking sensors.
FIAT 500 Spiaggina
Special FIAT 500 Spiaggina ’58 will be available exclusively with 1.2 liter petrol with 69 hp.
If FIAT did not have the courage to offer a more faithful copy of the original “buggy”, then Garage Italia did that in collaboration with Pininfarina.
They celebrated the 60th anniversary of “500 Jolly Spiaggina” with their own special modified version called “Spiaggina by Garage Italia”.

Here, the roof structure is completely removed, as with the original, and in the back seat there is a large luggage space that can be transformed into a real small shower cabin in the open to wash sea salt after the day spent on the beach.
Garage Italia has also changed the concept of the front car seats, which are integrated into a single unit. Unlike the FIAT 500 Spiaggina ’58, it is envisaged that this variant can be ordered with any of the engines available in the current offer of the standard FIAT 500.
