Mercedes 300 SL from 1963 reached a record value on the auction for this model. The original factory condition and very small mileage are just some of the special facts related to this car
One of the legendary Mercedes-Benz models, the 300 SL from 1963, was recently auctioned. Nowadays, Gullwing and Coupes, or Roadster, are equally attractive, which is proven by the price of this particular specimen.
It was sold for no less than €3,143,000, which is twice the expected €1.5 to €2 million. The reason for such a high price lies in the fact that the 300 SL is increasingly popular among collectors but also an extremely rare opportunity to get the car in a virtually factory condition.
The car has only 1,372 kilometers traveled and it is all original except color. Not driven since 1972. It is kept in controlled climatic conditions, and the last owner is in Sweden.
The interior is also completely original, with no sign of use. The car also comes with a soft roof that has never been installed and is supplied in the original wooden box.
Another important feature of this Mercedes 300 SL is that it is one of the last made copies. More precisely, after it, just was made another ten pieces.
Since these preserved specimens in the factory condition are extremely rare, we can expect that the value will only grow.
