The forthcoming Barrett-Jackson auction, which will take place next month in Las Vegas, will also be the place where will be offered for sale Mercedes-Benz limousine once owned by the legendary Elvis Presley.
More precisely, it is 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SEL, one of only 8,250 produced copies of this type.
The car is in the Alpha Crystal Blue Metallic and is powered by a 2.8-liter six-cylinder with 134 kW / 180 hp and 262 Nm of torque. It is still equipped with its factory options including air conditioning, power windows, power steering, power brakes, and a Becker Europa radio that is still in working condition.
Elvis was the owner since 1971 until his death in 1977, after which the car was in the museum and made part of John Staluppi Jr. collection.
This 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SEL is well documented and comes with copies of the title registration, the original title (both of which bare Elvis’ signature), a copy of the original Bill of Sale, as well as a photo of the vehicle parked in front of Graceland.
