Bentley Turbo RL Empress II Coupe is a unique version with three doors of LWB Bentley Turbo RL model that was produced from the mid-1980’s to the late 1990’s.
This copy was produced by Hooper company, in just five copies, and one of them will be auctioned at RM Sotheby’s in Arizona on January 17 and 18, next year.
The auction will feature one of the total of two specimens with the steering wheel on the left, and this special Bentley owns an aluminum body that is painted in the Tudor Red red, while the interior is made in beige with details of wood. It is equipped with numerous features that are impressive even for today’s standards, such as the “cocktail” cabinet, glass sunshine roof, electronically adjustable front and rear seats and sound system with 12 speakers from Alpine.
This copy was produced in 1991, and Hooper used it in its advertising campaigns. After that, the car arrived to Los Angeles where it is still in a collection today with other unique Bentley and Rolls-Royce models. The Empress II Coupe is almost in the factory condition described by the Auction House as “extraordinary”.
Also, despite the fact that it is 27 years old, this car has only 11,632 kilometers on its odometer, and is sold together with papers on its history and other reports. There is still no information as to what price RM Sotheby’s will be looking for, but given that it’s an extremely rare car, we believe it will not be small.
