Instead of this year’s SIHH exhibition, the Ulysse Nardin brand chose the almost finished 2019 Miami Yacht Show to present its incredible novelty …
It’s a Marine Mega Yacht watch, which is a continuation of the story launched by the Grand Deck Tourbillon model, introduced three years ago. The latest Ulysse Nardine mega watch inspired by the nautical, as its name suggests, is intended for yacht owners and will be limited to only thirty pieces.
Inspired by the sleek, hi-tech aesthetics of modern luxury yachts, the Marine Mega Yacht model has a 44 millimeters case, which is made of platinum. The combination of white gold and blue enamel is adorned with a dial, which features a bow of a luxury ship that comes out of the foggy, fading ocean. This casing is paired with the strap of alligator leather in dark blue, so it fits perfectly with the color of the dial.
The watch is powered by the Ulysse Nardin caliber UN-63, which contains as many as 504 components, it is manual winding and offers an energy reserve of eighty hours.
The mechanism, in addition to the time display, also supplies a three-dimensional phase view of the month and a mechanism that displays the tide at the right time, depending on the specific location.
A flying tourbillon is stationed at a six-hour position rotates every sixty seconds, and its cage is designed to resemble the blades of luxury propeller blades. The energy reserve is displayed at the position of a small anchor for three hours, which is connected by a ring with its chain.
The watch has a back made of sapphire crystal, which gives us insight into the mechanism and all its details.
Like the Grand Deck model, the Ulysse Nardin brand teamed up with Christophe Claret, a world-renowned brand to create unique complications, to develop and produce a Mega Yacht watch.
Each of the thirty pieces will come with a plaque that gives owners the opportunity to order personalized engravings. The price of this model is just over $300,000.
