Kawasaki Zephyr 750: Cafe Racer With The Spirit Of The Nineties

Kawasaki Zephyr 750 is one of those motorcycles that deserve much more attention and respect. It had a great merit in launching the retro boom on the Old Continent during the 1990s, and on the other side of the Atlantic, it almost went unnoticed. Numerous prominent figures in the world of two-wheelers were amazed by its poor sales results.
However, Zephyr 750 has many fans, including Linda and Pol, from England, the owners of the November Customs Workshop.

Their small workshop resembles a little bigger shed, but the job is blooming. One of their creations is precisely this “cafe racer” model, based on the Zephyr 750 model from 1991. Otherwise, it is a machine that Linda uses on a daily basis.
In their workshop it arrived as a partially completed project, with a small mileage. The first change on it was the second rear fork, with CB900 Honda, and then the YSS shock absorbers were placed.
Then the entire front of the Ducati 848 motorcycle was inserted, along with some parts with the Ducati 748. In order to make the visual appearance more complete, new triumphs from the model Triumph Truxton 1200 were also put in. The new Brembo discs – the front with the Triumph 675 – were also used and Aprilia brake calipers because they fit the Ducati’s fork with size. We must not forget the Brembo RCS radial main cylinders.
Linda and Pol completely disassembled the air-cooled DOHC four-cylinder unit and pulled it out. They decided on a hydraulic clutch, the exhaust system originates with the BMW S1000R and is slightly adjusted to fit on a motorcycle.

As far as the bodywork is concerned, the choice has fallen on a monocoque architecture. The original subframe is cut off, and a new one is placed in its place, while the electricity is placed under the seat. The fuel tank is genuine, but it’s too narrow and modified. The windshield was “lying” down the workshop, so Linda and Paul thought they could be used on this motorcycle, which they eventually did. At the back is a small lithium-ion battery.
There are also LED lights in specially designed cabinets, and the whole creation also has an attractive outward appearance.
This “cafe racer” shows that size definitely does not matter. At least when the size of the workshop is concerned.
