To commemorate one of Formula One’s most celebrated champions and mark the twenty-five years since his untimely death, the TAG Heuer brand has launched two watches celebrating Ayrton Sena, featuring details that remind us of his favorite watch style and his homeland, namely Brazil.

A legend in the TAG Heuer past in the world of Formula 1 racing, Senna was once the face of the brand’s first “Crack Under Pressure” campaign in 1991, which was the ideal role for an aspiring, fearless and dedicated Brazilian rider. Today, a quarter of a century after his tragic death, this partnership continues to take the form of two new enchanting watches.

TAG Heuer Carrera Caliber Heuer 02T automatic chronograph model with its diameter of 45 mm, contains a matte black ceramic case with a corresponding tachometer base, and is subtly accentuated by the yellow and green color of the Brazilian flag. Its black rubber and leather straps received green stitches, while its chronograph was decorated with a yellow letter S. The inscription “SENNA” was created in yellow on a fixed tachymeter base made of black ceramics, while the black tourbillon was in position for six hours.
The stylized yellow-green image of the Seine with its distinctive helmet is engraved on the reverse of this model created from sapphire crystal, through which the operation of the Heuer 02T mechanism, which also has a COSC certificate, can be seen. In honor of the number of pole positions Sena has accumulated throughout her career, the model is limited to just 65 pieces.

This edition, in honor of the twenty-five years since Sena’s death, contains an engraving of his helmet on the steel back of the case, as well as his name printed in white at 1 o’clock position on a fixed black ceramic base with a tachymeter scale. This model is fitted with a sporty S-shaped bracelet that Sena especially loved, and it has a driver extension that gives all ride enthusiasts the opportunity to wear it over the racing suit.
The limited edition model has a diameter of 44 mm and a bold racing style with red lacquered indices, center second and counter hands. White counters at the 6 and 9 o’clock positions, with the black sub-dial at the 12 o’clock position stand out from the sunray brushed anthracite color dial. This model is powered by an automatically cheering chronograph, Caliber 16.
