A Brooklyn apartment that just sold for $20.3 million has smashed the record for priciest home ever sold in the borough.
Located in Quay Tower, a waterfront luxury building in the affluent Brooklyn Heights neighborhood, the penthouse is actually two units combined into a single residence with five bedrooms and 7,433 square feet of living space and a 1,179-square-foot private terrace, according to Douglas Elliman.
The buyer is shielded by an anonymous limited liability company, but was identified as a New Yorker in the financial services industry by The Wall Street Journal when the apartment went into contract in October 2018. It has taken 18 months to complete and finalize the sale.
The views are “absolutely insane,” a source said, because “you can see all of New York Harbor, Manhattan and the East River” from the trophy home.
