Following recent leaked images, Maserati has now officially promoted its new sports model called the MC20 (short for Maserati Corsa 2020 and a reminder of the company’s racing pedigree).
MC20 is described as a supersport car that is a natural evolution of the highly successful MC12. Maserati reminds here that MC12 has recorded 22 victories and 14 championship titles during its career.
The new car represents the beginning of a new era for the Italian brand, and it will also have a fully electric variant.
The first version has a centrally located 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine with 630hp and 730Nm (with 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive).
Since the vehicle weighs less than 1500 kg (the chassis is made of carbon fiber), the weight/power ratio is 2.33 kg/hp.
Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes less than 2.9 seconds, reaches 200 km/h in less than 8.8 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 325 km/h.
The factory also states data on fuel consumption – 11.6 l/100 km.
In terms of dimensions, the MC20 is 4669 mm long, 1965 mm wide, 1221 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2700 mm.
Here is the fact that the MC20 has two trunks; front of 47 l and rear of 101 l.
The package also includes adjustable suspension, LSD differential, 20-inch wheels, braking system with 380 mm discs at the front and 350 mm at the rear (carbon ceramic discs are also available), digital instrument panel, 10.25-inch central display, as well as five modes driving (WET, GT, SPORT, CORSA and ESC OFF).
There will be more colors available, namely Bianco Audace, Giallo Genio, Rosso Vincente, Blu Infinito, Nero Enigma and Grigio Mistero.
As for the electric version, Maserati only states for now that such an MC20 accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, reaches 310 km/h and has an autonomy of 323 km.
