For the London Institute of Contemporary Arts’ Psychedelica Gala, Damien Hirst, Ai Weiwei, Gary Hume, Gary Webb, Alison Jackson, Liliane Lijn, Gavin Turk, Ai Weiwei, Mark Titchner (and more) have customized a series of designer products. The modern artists have turned their tailored products into symbols of art to benefit the annual fundraising ICA Gala on March 29th, 2011.
Psychedelic is the theme for this year’s ICA event where guests will be treated to a dinner and party with live music, performances and art installations as well as Sotheby’s live and silent auctions. The supplier of designer is Made.com, who took care of the donor products including Hollander bikes, Piggy Bag beanbags, Arche lamps and Champion Pro football tables and put them at the disposal to a select group of artists and invited them to respond to the gala’s psychedelic theme to customize them.
Bidders in the live auction will be able to compete on the night for Damien Hirst’s psychedelic spinning take on the Hollander Classic Dutch bike, a Jessica Warboys Piggy Bag or a Jake and Dinos Chapmans’ psychedelic Pro football table that is sure to set imaginations wandering.
Team renowned artists Damien Hirst, Ai Weiwei and Gary Hume have made artistic bikes for the event. More specific guests who prefer silent auctions can bid on items such as an Arche Lamp and Alison Jackson’s look-a-like celebrity table football game where each player features one of her trademark celebrities.
