According to Reuters, production of the Apple iPhone 5 will start in July or August, so it will be ready for a sell in September. Three unnamed sources with direct knowledge of the company’s supply chain contributed to the report and told the news agency that the new handset will bear a strong resemblance to last year’s iPhone 4 and boast a strong processor.
The iPhone 5 is expected to include a faster processor and feature a larger 4-inch screen, up from the current 3.5-inches it has been sporting since 2007. Rumours also suggest an upgraded rear-facing camera that boasts 8 megapixels, an improvement from the current 5MP. The iPhone is one of Apple’s most successful products, with more than 16 million sold in the last quarter of 2010 and accounts for more than a third of the company’s sales in the period.
