Until now, only astronaut’s wedding rings could being in the space, but in the future thanks to SpaceWed, a privately owned Polish company, many other people will have a chance to do it. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s first journey into space, SpaceWed launched its Space Wedding Rings Initiative, of course in the space.
These Limited Edition rings, known as the SWR-50th Anniversary Collection were placed inside a SL-5 rocket by SpaceWed Company, which launched the rings in the space to be recovered about 50 miles away from the launch site in the White Sands Missile Range. Landing on the 20th of May, the capsule contained 50 sets of these rings.
Each set of Space Wedding Rings will be assigned a unique serial number and engraved with the SpaceWed logo. The rings will be sold in custom designed, space-themed packaging and will include a Certificate of Space Flight, as well as a DVD and photo album of the rocket launch.
