Chopard L.U.C Engine One Tourbillon in Black and Yellow for Only Watch 2011 Auction
Apart from aviation, the world of automobiles inspire some of the most radical watch designs of late. The latest in the world of limited edition timepieces inspired from classic cars is Chopard’s Engine One Tourbillon for Only Watch 2011 charity auction.
The exceptional timepiece was first brought to the foray for celebrate Chopard’s 150th anniversary. The autos-inspired wristwatch is designed to function in the same way as a car engine, with the movement mounted on silent blocks that absorb shocks and held by three lever arms inserted into the case middle. Designed, developed and produced by Chopard Manufacture, the L.U.C Calibre 1TRM offers a 60-hour power reserve and 50 meters of water resistance. The 35.4 x 44.4 mm watch is set inside a DLC titanium case, and a Glareproofed sapphire crystal caseback and looks just like car wings.
A special black and yellow-toned version of the watch bears an engraving that reads Only Watch 2011 on the side. The dial face sports yellow hued Arabic numerals and the watch is finished with hand-sewn black alligator leather lined with brown alligator leather featuring gadrooned motif and a DLC titanium pin buckle.
