Urwerk has just released its new, rare watch, named Champagne Supernova – a limited edition of its popular UR-110 ZrN Torpedo timepiece. The only difference between the limited edition watch and the regular version is colors. New limited edition model has a case color that looks like champagne, which indicates its name. Only 12 of these timepieces will be produced.

This limited edition timepiece has a pale gold color case , which is the result of treating sandblasted steel with Zirconium Nitrite (ZrN). According to Urwerk ZrN is a champagne-colored high-performance ceramic machine tool coating which, while only a few microns thick, is very hard (2000 Vickers); provides excellent scratch, wear, and corrosion resistance; and exhibits good lubricity and ductility. As a result it is commonly used for coating medical devices and aerospace components.
Each of the 12 watches will be identified by a red satellite hour numeral. In the U.S., the timepiece will be sold, starting this month, at Westime boutiques exclusively. Price is $135,000. Other three retailers are Chronopassion (Paris), Marcus (London) and The Hour Glass (Singapore).
