You might have heard about Britannia Manor II, the gorgeous, palatial home of Richard Garriott. Garriott, also known as his alter egos Lord British in Ultima and General British in Tabula Rasa, has built a haunted house/museum at his residence called Britannia Manor in Austin, Texas and now is up for sale for a whopping $4.1 million!

Britannia Manor II is situated high on a level 3.99ac hilltop overlooking downtown & a 3,000ac preserve. The house is famous for its observatory, which is a 360 degree huge telescope built at the top of the house (4790 sq.ft in height), secret passages and of course some seriously over-the-top haunted house events on Halloween. The manor was built in 1987 and designed and architect by Alan Barley in the medieval style with different medieval items such as swords, crossbows and armor etc. The house also has a brick from the Great Wall of China and a Russian spacesuit.
The house has three bedrooms, two full and three half baths. It is equipped with all the modern day facilities like central air, built-in oven, dishwasher, microwave, sub-zero refrigerator, energy-efficient double-pane windows and a solar-based off-the-grid energy system. The house has a working cannon at the front door and it is also equipped with an indoor grotto with hot-and-cold-running rain showers. And then of course there’s the pool, the secret grotto, the waterfall, the full-on 360-degree observatory with telescope, separate guest quarters, a detached studio, an air conditioned barn, a five-car garage lagoon and lighted track.
