Since the King of Pop died on June 25, 2009, many have asked what will happen with his mansion at 100 North Carolwood Drive where the pop star lived with his three children. Now is already known that Michael Jackson’s home where he lived from December 2008 until his death is up for sale for a reported $23.5 million.

While Dr. Conrad Murray sits in a jail awaiting sentencing for involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s death, Julien’s Auctions is ready to sell off all the items within the house as well including: upholstered chairs smudged with Jackson’s makeup and Jackson’s death bed, which looks out to an expansive backyard surrounded by tall trees, expensive art worth over $30,000, an armoire estimated at $6,000 and a collection of Louis-style antiques amongst other extravagant items that Michael loved surrounding himself with.
We want to preserve the history of these items, said celebrity auctioneer Darren Julien, president of Julien’s Auctions.
Located on a leafy corner in the posh Holmby Hills neighbourhood, the 17,000-square-foot Carolwood home was designed by architect Richard Landry and is styled on a French chateau with 18th and 19th century French decor. Many walls are lined with watercolor and acrylic paintings and with six bedrooms, 10 fireplaces, a wine cellar, fitness center, formal dining and sitting rooms, a large swimming pool and a pool house and not to forget a movie theater, this house truly was fit for the King.
Decorated in a similar manner to his beloved Neverland ranch, the mansion still has signs of his life starting from a chalkboard in the massive kitchen that says, I (heart) Daddy. SMILE, it’s for free, to a message written by Michael himself on an antique armoire that reads, TRAIN, perfection, March April. FULL OUT May. The chalkboard will be sold as-is, and is expected to fetch more than $400.
Photos of the house and the items available for sale are featured in a limited-edition auction catalog, which is being sold for $100. But the catalog and auction are discreetly titled 100 North Carolwood Drive and the words Michael Jackson do not appear anywhere in the catalog.
