This year, just in time for Christmas, Perrier-Jouët Champagne brand will cheer us with its new limited-edition designs for its Belle Époque and Grand Brut ranges, designed by Claire Coles, a young British artist.
Claire Coles conveyed her normally work of wallpapers, vintage fabrics and yarns to bottles of Perrier-Jouët champagne giving a new look to the original bottle of Belle Epoque 1902. Inspired by nature and flowers, a young artist has created a style for the two collections “lively and fresh for the Grand Brut and a delicate floral theme for the Belle Epoque”. The artist herself explains that she was “inspired by Perrier-Jouët’s artistic heritage,” which dates back to the Belle Epoque era in France.
Perrier-Jouët has already worked on a reworking of the original 1902 Belle Epoque bottle with Japanese floral artist Makoto Azuma, which went on sale in the United States in September. He took inspiration “from the sensation of Champagne inside the mouth,” suspending white flowers and foliage in a three-dimensional frame to achieve the effect he wanted.
Limited Edition Perrier-Jouët Champagne of the nobility designed by Claire Coles will be available from October 2012 via Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols. The Belle Epoque set comes with two iconic anemone designed flutes and is priced at £156 ($250), while the Grand Brut gift box comes at £40 ($65).
