Thanks to spy shots and pictures, we roughly knew how 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe will look. But now, BMW officially reveals the new 2014 M6 Gran Coupe ahead of its launch next summer. Described by the automaker as “perhaps the perfect combination” of the M5 and the M6, the M6 Gran Coupe is BMW’s response to Audi’s S7, Mercedes-Benz’s CLS63 and the Porsche Panamera Turbo.
The new M6 Gran Coupe features the most powerful engine ever fitted to an M production car, a 4.4-liter M TwinPower Turbo V-8 with 560 horsepower and an always-accessible 500 lb-ft of torque.
Stunning four-door gran turismo is equipped with twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine rated at 560 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque that is linked to a seven-speed M-Double Clutch Transmission, whereupon power is sent onto unique limited-slip Active M Differential before reaching the rear wheels.
The five-passenger M6 Gran Coupe sprints from zero to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 155 mph. h. It also boasts fuel efficiency with an average mileage of 28.5 miles per gallon.
Drivers can select from three settings for the M-specific speed-sensitive hydraulic power steering. The modes include Comfort, Sport and Sports Plus, the lowest level of steering boost that can be selected.
Visually, the coupe is defined by a more aggressive body kit, a low roof line, a carbon fiber-composite roof panel, flared wheel arches, painted brake calipers and stylish 20-inch wheels wrapped in ultra-high-performance summer tires and optional adaptive LED headlights.
Inside, the Coupe will get similar upgrades as its two-door counterpart with plenty of Alcantara trim, a sportier, three-spoke steering wheel and well-bolstered, leather-wrapped seats.
2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe is expected to make an auto show debut at either the 2013 Detroit NAIAS in January or the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March, when will be known availability as well as pricing. It is expected to be at least a $10,000-$15,000 premium over the M6 Coupe.
