Blancpain is loyal as ever to the tradition of celebrating Valentine’s Day. There’s no better way to tell someone “I love you”, than giving this stunning Saint-Valentin 2013 Watch. Heart-motif is inevitable as on previous 2012 model, but in this case emphasized with series of five red-lacquered ceramic hearts, the largest of which surrounds the date window at 3 o’clock.
The base of the watch’s dial is white mother-of-pearl, and the hour markers are diamonds. The steel case measures 34 mm and is topped by a bezel set with two rows of full-cut diamonds. The counterweight of the slender, central seconds hand takes the shape of the Blancpain “JB” (initials of founder Jehan-Jacques Blancpain) logo.
This self-winding, three-hand model is equipped with mechanical self-winding Calibre 1150, which has 28 jewels and a 100-hour power reserve – all the way through to the rotor which is also decorated with four red hearts, which can be easily seen through the exhibition caseback. Bringing the watch together is a strap of white ostrich leather with an alzavel lining, which reveals more beautifully designed hearts.
The Blancpain Saint-Valentin 2013 model is limited to 99 pieces, delivered in a white wooden presentation box encrusted with white hearts evoking the dial design. The U.S retail price is $21,200.
