Tracking Point unveiled the new attraction called Precision Guided Firearms, or PGFs with Austin-based startup on Consumer Electronics Show(CES) this past week in Las Vegas. Three high-tech customized hunting rifles ranging from, 300 Winchester Magnum with a 22-inch barrel to a 338 Lapua Magnum with 27-inch barrel, all fitted with advanced computerized scopes make this PGF series.

The customized PGF is made with a modified trigger mechanism and variable weighting, the computerized digital tracking scope, and hand-loaded match grade rounds. Button near the trigger alloves you to shoot at something using the PGF, but you need to “mark” it on the Scope and the target will be illuminated by laser. The tracking scope then takes into account the range of the target, the ambient temperature and humidity, the age of the barrel, and other parameters.
The user has the complete control of the rifle. When you pull the trigger the reticle goes from blue to red, and while keeping the trigger held down, you position the reticle over the marked target’s pip. As soon as they coincide, the rifle fires. TrackingPoint confirms the rifle doesn’t fire by itself.
PGF allows anyone with an iPad or iPhone to act as a spotter, and includes a small Wi-Fi server, and comes with an iOS app that connects to the scope via Wi-Fi network. Price of $17,000 is certainly acceptable for such a rifle and hunters will be quite satisfied with its quality.
