There’s slow-selling and then there’s Maybach. Moving a paltry 200 cars from its factories last year, the Maybach brand is still failing to achieve the reach and appeal of the established classic ultra-luxury brands Bentley and Rolls-Royce. The truth remains that Maybach’s sales are far below capacity, as the company’s assembly plant in Germany has the capability to churn out up to 2,000 vehicles per year, but bosses at Maybach’s parent company Daimler are determined to keep the brand alive.
Maybach Luxury Eyewear Collection
Fortunately, Maybach has found a new way to earn cash. Luxury carmaker is now offering lifestyle accessories for its clients. Here comes Maybach’s line of luxury eyewear.
And just like their luxury saloons, Maybach isn’t going to let their eyewear walk out of the manufacturing center off a machine. No, these models are hand-crafted using the highest quality materials, just like their vehicles. The eyewear is made by German eyewear manufacturer IVKO for Maybach while the lenses are manufactured by Zeiss. The Maybach Eyewear collection boasts of eight models in up to nine colors and ten different frames in up to six colors.
Each pair was crafted with the highest level of design and quality featuring 18K yellow, white, and rose gold frames, titanium, fine wood, leather, carbon fiber, natural horn and Zeiss lenses. For those who want more distinguishable features, Maybach is offering an Individual Collection allowing their premium customers a chance of having individual name lettering in the arm. The collection will include 19 unusual natural horn tones, six fine wood or wood/carbon fiber combinations, and ten lens tints.

To provide the glasses an automotive touch, Maybach stated that is has instructed IVKO to take motivation from the luxury cars it has released to the public. Based on the carmaker, one example is the leather-trimmed arms that features an artistically inset Maybach logo, metal elements on the arms echo the door sill panels of the high-end saloons, the piano lacquer on the wood and carbon fibre arms recalls the finish of the trim strips in the interior.
The Maybach Luxury Eyewar Collection is expected to be available for sale by the end of October. The price range however is yet to be disclosed.
