For one hundred years of existence, the Aston Martin is preparing to launch a brand new supercar based on V12 Vantage wich will make debut in the upcoming Nurburgring 24 Hour race to be held in May.
This new car is inspired by the Aston Martin DBR1 that legendary British racing driver Sterling Moss piloted to victory in the 1959 Nürburgring 1000km convertible mode who was a singular creation of the company since the model has no doors or roof.
The Aston Martin CC100 will be the second most expensive model in the company, after the One-77 and V12 Zagato. To justify such a high price, it will be produced only two units of CC100 Aston Martin model. The first will be to celebrate Aston Martin’s first 100 years in business, and the second will honor Moss’s victory 54 years ago. At this year’s Nürburgring 24-hour race the CEO, Dr. Ulrich Bez will drive the CC100 and Sterling Moss will be reunited with the DBR1.
Technical specifications of this model are not yet known, but it is almost certain that it will feature the improved version of the V12 Vantage 5.9l V12 engine and the car will cost somewhere between $490,000 and $2.1 million. Large range, you have to admit!
