The Volkswagen company presented at Auto Shanghai iBeetle concept. Volkswagen iBeetle is expected at the market next year and has been described as the world’s first car to feature the original, intuitive interface for the iPhone in collaboration with Apple.
The model will be available as a coupe and convertible. The main characteristics will be special applications, such as Spotify, Expert, Trainer, Reader, Postcard and Milestones.
The iPhone’s and the Beetle’s interfaces become one thanks to a specially developed Beetle app and the user can make calls, send emails and text messages and access navigation as well as supplement the stereo system via the iTunes music library.
In addition, iBeetle will feature 18 “disc wheels made of alloy and non-ferrous Galvano gray, and in the same color will be additions like side and rear external mirrors. iBeetle will have black sill plates, chrome iBeetle label on the front and chrome trimmings on the sides.
The iBeetle and iBeetle convertible will be on sale in Spring 2014 but Volkswagen will start taking orders in October, when it is also expected to reveal pricing.
