The Left Shoe Company, founded in 1998, is a made-to-measure footwear manufacturer with offices in London, United Kingdom and in Helsinki, Finland. Now they announced the opening of its first American store in Los Angeles on 1,700 square foot which is located on Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles.
Due to the Made to measure 3D scanning method the shoes are available in a wide range of sizes and more personalized models. Normally, tailor made high quality shoes come at a high price, the delivery is around six months and the customer need to revisit the shoemaker frequently.
In contrast, 3D measured shoes can be delivered in 4 weeks. Once the 3D scanning process is completed, the costumer is able to individualize his choice of shoes in accordance with the made-to-measure term, both in the store and on the website he can choose the sole, colour and leather to his liking.
The Melrose Avenue store will feature a design studio to select style, and a lounge complete with a gentleman’s bar, so the customers will have a personalized shopping experience. The Left Shoe Company officially opens to the public on Saturday, June 15 in celebration of Father’s Day.
Retail prices start at $395 for custom shoes, and they are available in as many as 10 varying colorways and materials with 6 different sole options. The basic styles are categorized in various collections such as The Oxford, The Derby, The Monk, The Boot, Seaside, and Golf. The store will also carries accessories such as belts, socks, and shoe care items like polish and brushes.
